GetCharacterAppearanceAsync

This function returns a Model containing the assets which the player is wearing, excluding gear.

If you prefer a Lua table of information about these assets instead of a model, use Players/GetCharacterAppearanceInfoAsync.

This method behaves similar to InsertService/LoadAsset, and is like using InsertService/LoadAsset|LoadAsset on the asset information returned by Players/GetCharacterAppearanceInfoAsync except faster.

Parameters

Name Type Default Description

The Player/UserId of the specified player

Returns

Return Type Summary

A Model containing the assets which the player is wearing, excluding gear

How To Get A Character's Appearance

This example demonstrates how to retrieve a character’s appearance.

The returned Model is not a child of Workspace by default. If you want the model to be visible, its Instance/Parent|parent property must be set.

local appearanceModel = game.Players:GetCharacterAppearanceAsync(772462)
appearanceModel.Parent = game.Workspace
